Steve Clack, Peter Schickele, Nelwyn Clack

Always up for a good laugh, musical satirist Peter Schickele enjoys his backstage conversation with Steve and Nelwyn Clack, KPAS sponsors for this Sunday afternoon event. Schickele, and his alter ego PDQ Bach, entertained two audiences for the finale of the KPAS 2009-2010 season … closing with an encore that had the audience on its feet! Kent & Janet McKinney, of Guadalupe National Bank, sponsored the Saturday evening show. KPAS Guests for the evening were members of the Kerrville Police Department. The Kerrville Performing Arts Society is a 501(c)( 3) non-profit organization presenting a world of superb performing arts in the Texas Hill Country.

Kerrville audiences had the opportunity to hear music icon Marvin Hamlisch as he reflected on his music and lifetime as one of the preeminent composers of his time. The over 1,600 concertgoers enjoyed works by Hamlisch including his Pulitzer Prize winning broadway show, “A Chorus Line”. Thanks to local sponsors Beverly Pevehouse, Robert & Lillian Treadwell, and the legal firm Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison + Tate, KPAS’ presentation of “One, Singular Sensation” received accolades of praise from concertgoers.

The crowd was hoppin’ at the American Big Band Shows presented by the Kerrville Performing Arts Society. Thanks to local sponsors James Avery, Busty & Amy Underwood, Arthur Bell, and The Hill Country Center for Cancer Care, over 1,600 concertgoers had the opportunity to relax and enjoy music from the big band era … performed by musicians, singers and dancers. In addition, over 800 local students attended an outreach performance with the visiting artists. Above, Dr. Valerian Chyle and his wife, Mary, swing with the cast members following the show.
