The Kerrville
Performing Arts Society’s Silver Sponsors Masel
S. Quinn (center), of the Masel S. Quinn
Foundation, and Cynthia Anderson (right) of
Veranda Real Estate, join Smee, Peter Pan,
Captain Hook and Tiger Lily (clockwise from
bottom) during intermission at the Cailloux
Theater. This national touring production of
Peter Pan concluded their 8-month tour with two
rousing performances in Kerrville. KPAS
concluded their Global Season with two virtually
sold out performances of this high-flying
broadway musical that featured incredible sets,
theatrical “flying” above the Cailloux stage,
and astounding vocalists that performed such
classics as “I Gotta Crow”, “I’m Flying”, and “I
Won’t Grow Up”. Sponsors such as The Masel S.
Quinn Foundation and Veranda Real Estate provide
funding for KPAS to bring such world-class
performances to the Texas Hill Country. KPAS is
setting the stage for 2008-2009, their 25th
anniversary season, A Silver Celebration! |

The African
Children’s Choir treated Hill Country
residents to a moving and enjoyable performance
this past Saturday evening at Kerrville’s
Cailloux Theater. A full house enjoyed the
stirring songs and dynamic dances of 22
children, aged 7 to 12, thanks to the generosity
of Andy and Maggie Phillips (pictured above with
the children). The Phillips family’s company,
The Integrity Group, was a KPAS Silver
Sponsor for this heartwarming concert. The
African Children’s Choir concert program was
experienced by the Phillips’ family in
Scottsdale, Arizona, 6 years ago, and the
inspirational effect of the choir’s performance
helped the Phillips to select this performance
for a sponsorship. The Integrity Group,
specifically Keystone Developments and The
Heights of Kerrville, teamed with the Kerrville
Performing Arts Society to broaden artistic
horizons in the KPAS Global Season. |

Stephanie Cadman, feature fiddler/dancer of
The Stepcrew,
joins Lillian and Robert Treadwell backstage
prior to the curtain opening for the fabulous
performances by this young, highly energetic
group of entertainers this past week. The entire
cast, consisting of 3 fiddler/dancers, 4
dancers, and a 5-piece band, spent a few moments
with the Treadwells before they began the first
of two evening performances at the Cailloux
Theater. The Stepcrew also performed for a
student outreach program for over 800 students
from 13 area schools and a Master Class for the
Hill Country Youth Orchestras. Thanks to the
generosity of the Treadwells, more than 2,200
people had the opportunity to attend a live
performance by The Stepcrew … leaving
concertgoers breathless after nearly two hours
of non-stop tap dancing and fiddling! Additional
funding was provided by The Mid-America Arts
Alliance for these events, which are presented
by The Kerrville Performing Arts Society. |

On stage with the
The Shaolin Warriors of China, Hunt
residents (from left to right) Joe and Sue
Atkinson along with Kerrville’s Dr. David Jones
and Dr. Michael Gagnon enjoy the moment of being
onstage with the masters of Kung-fu. The
Atkinsons and
The Hill Country Center for Cancer Care (Dr.
Gagnon and Dr. Jones) deserve special
recognition for their support which made the
evening’s performance and the pre-concert
lecture possible. Additional funding for The
Shaolin Warriors’ appearance at The Cailloux
Theater was received by the Mid-America Arts
Alliance, which includes generous underwriting
by the National Endowment for the Arts, The
Texas commission on the Arts, and foundations,
corporations and individuals throughout
Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma,
and Texas. |

Surrounded by the
ten artists of The Yamato Drummers, local
residents (from left to right) Bob and Diane
Green, Martha Foy, and Steve Clack experience
the exhilaration of being on stage with these
high-energy performers. KPAS’ two presentations
of The Yamato Drummers and a student outreach
program were made possible through the
generosity of
Kerr County Abstract and Title
Company (Bob & Diane Green), Nelwyn & Steve
Clack, an Anonymous Donor, and the Mid-America
Arts Alliance. The Sunday evening’s performance
was dedicated in memory of Mr. Joe Foy for his
numerous contributions to the Kerrville
community and especially for his support of the
performing arts. |
